Title 1 Information
 
What is Title 1?
 
  • Title 1 refers to federal funding that our school receives under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
 
Why is Rivercrest a Title 1 school?
 
  • A school's Title 1 eligibility is solely determined by the percentage of students in the school who qualify for free or reduced lunch. When 40% or more of the student population qualify for free or reduced lunch, the school is eligible to receive Title 1 funding.
    • RES is currently at 41% free or reduced lunch. In order to keep funds, we need all eligible families to complete the free or reduced lunch application. Please pick up a free or reduced lunch application form from Mrs. Harrison or apply online at Bartlett City Schools- free or reduced lunch application
 
How can the school spend Title 1 money?
 
  • The money can only be spent with input from stakeholders (parents, teachers, and community). Title 1 money may be spent in five categories:
    • Supplemental Educational Materials
    • Technology Equipment
    • Additional Staff
    • Parental Involvement and Training
    • Professional Development for Teachers
 
  • The following are all purchased with Title 1 funds at RES:
    • Additional Personnel for Instruction- 5 positions
      • Dean of Instruction
      • STEAM Teacher
      • Part-time/RTI Interventionists
    • Technological Equipment
      • Student Laptops
      • Student iPads
      • Interactive SmartBoards
      • Apple TVs
    • Educational Resources
      • IXL (Grades 1-5) online reading, math, science and social studies program
      • Generation Genius (K-5) math & science program
      • Coach Books (Grades 3-5) to help with state testing
    • Summer Reading and Math Books for EVERY student
    • Additional Resources and Instructional Supplies
 
How can parents get involved?
 
    • Volunteer through our PTO to help with events throughout the school year.
    • Complete parent surveys when they are sent home.
    • Attend family/community events at the school throughout the school year.
    • Be on the lookout for information that is sent home.
